Broch of Clickimin
The Clickimin Broch is located on Shetland and is about a mile south west of Lerwick. It is free to visit and is a good example of a broch tower with associated secondary buildings of Iron Age date. Clickimin Broch was first uncovered around 1850 and was professionally excavated and restored a hundred years later. A broch is an Iron Age drystone hollow-walled structure of a type found only in Scotland. Brochs include some of the most sophisticated examples of drystone architecture ever created
